Point Solitude

View the trailer

Point solitude is the result of 6 whole months of work in my spare time. It is the first ride I have created with extensive 3D work.

There isn't really an explicit story behind the theming. I hope that it itself tells you a story.

Notes

  • Please take the time to walk/run up the queue pathway. There's a lot of cool views of the ride from it.

  • Because my entire learning is present in this ride, you'll find areas where 3D work varies greatly in quality to other areas. However, I've tried to ensure all the scenery maintains the overall ambience.

  • The track passes the clearance envelope throughout.

  • Yes, the track could be improved. I got to the point where I realised, I'd have to choose to lock the track in in order to actually complete the ride. I could have made the ride technically superior, but it couldn't possibly have this much theming.

  • I had no reference for supporting underground, so whilst I've tried to stay as true as possible to Vekoma supports throughout, the cave sections are my own creation. (Yes, I know it's unrealistic to pretend these caves would occur naturally. It is a fantasy ride.)

    • And, just because I want to mention this; The package is 40MB, the full assets reached 310MB.

Are you kidding??? This was a unique experience absolutely amazing! From the starting point you feel all the creepy atmosphere around the island in the middle of nowhere. all the walk inside the caverns gives a great anticipation and i really enjoyed it! The ride is confusing but thrilling thanks to the great scenery you create. The attention to details is a lesson for all of us creator i mean that is really inspiring! I was too curious to see every inch of the island so i changed the weather in a sunny day and some few other great surprize came out like the eolic turbine that react realistically to the wind (astonishing!!!) and some cool terraforming new tricks!!! Texture are really well done each one with the right bump and reflection. Thanks for this legendary ride!!!

Outstanding work! The park and environment look great and I enjoyed taking the time to walk through the queue from the bottom dock and up to the station. The ride was very well put together and a lot of fun, though I think it could have used a bit more time in the flying position. Great work on the 3D scenery and the full presentation of the ride! Phenomenal in every sense of the word.

Why would it be unrealistic to pretend the caves would exist? I've seen plenty of real life parks make their own caves to fit their rollercoaster. Just parks with their own island in the middle of nowhere seems a bit far-fetched. T: This ride was amazing. Just to make sure I tried to crash it by leaving the transfer switch in the wrong direction when I set the ride back to automatic. The switch just returned to normal, as it should. Unfortunately, the third train doesn't add anything. Just keeps the next train sitting in the rain a bit longer. A: Flying trough the caves was great. And thank you for using launches in stead of chain lifts. No dull moments on this ride. O: Rides like this are very rare. Too bad you mis some of the details because you're lying on your back all the time. (I didn't see the church during the ride) But overall you did a great job. More of this please.

Wow! The first time that a ride really showed the possibilities of NL2. I don't want to double any things that were already mentioned, therefore only a couple of small things that I noticed: The station is probably some kind of weak point. Since the entrance and the exit are on the same side, this would create a big capacity problem in real life. But okay, it's a fantasy coaster... However, I'm not a big fan of the wooden fence in the station - Something metallic would have been the better solution in my opinion. Apart from that, I must admit that I didn't like those wind wheels neither. They kinda destroyed the feeling of loneliness on the island. What I really loved was the immense queue line! It offered absolutely amazing views on the ride, especially this part with the helix in the cave was stunning, and built up suspense and anticipation. Moreover, the overall scenery was just awesome! Gorgeous details and great texture work! Sometimes it felt like the rocks would have deserved some more polys but that had no impact on the catchy atmosphere created by the overall composition of environment, scenery and coaster. A small but convincing detail were the nets on the storage track that I really liked! And last but never the least: The lightning was incredible! Those carefully lit up caves left me in admiration... Awesome work and thanks a lot for sharing!

This was a very cool ride. The first element seems to be a half loop then a strait part upside down then a half corkscrew. The name was also original so bonus points for that. I still don't know what the heck an inclined banana roll is. However I thought the layout, the name, and the elements were all very original. Nice Job!

Wow!! This is not a normal ride, this is CALL OF DUTY ONRIDE!! You did an awesome job with 3D objects here, mate, and the lightning and atmosphere was simply astonishing. The ride couuld have been more thrilling, yes, but who cares, nervertheless it is still 99 times better than any of my creations (only one published, pity). Keep up the good work, I'll keep an eye on you!

Overall the ride was definitely very good and I think you did a good job of utilizing several of the new features in NL2. Tech - So I think the weakest point of the ride is the trackwork (which still was bad at all). There were a couple of larger bumps in the trackwork that look like they might have come from accidentally moving some nodes while working on the rest of the ride. There's one near the end of the initial helix and a few at the end of the first lay-to-fly transition after the "lift". I also think that the transitions during the last couple turns are rather rough (technically speaking). Aside from that, the only real complaint I have is with the first transport section out of the station that sped the train up. It seems like it was supposed to be just to maintain speed and then you should let the little dip in the track give you enough speed to make it to that first launch. Maybe you had it set to go faster as you were working and forgot to set it back? The supports were good. I liked some of the details that you included like an attempt at the rib between the columns of some of the taller supports. There were a couple flange clearance issues, but it's minor. Also, technically some of your supports in the tunnels would be impossible to install because they have multiple footers that face different directions on a single piece so there is no way to slide the support over the bolts in the concrete. But this is VERY minor. The last bit of logistical thing is the downward launch. I love the concept and I think it could be implemented, but with all of the track after it being below it, it would be difficult (impossible?) to prevent valleying. Logistically it could have used a small hill after it to prevent this. Adrenaline - I though this was really good. The pacing on the ride was excellent and very realistic. I thought the ride was the perfect length in that it left me feeling satisfied but wanting more. I agree with Ride_Op in that I would have preferred a little more utilization of the lay position. I liked the use of the launched lift. It gave it a Vekoma-Intamin hybrid feeling that I completely enjoyed. Originality - So, obviously the scenery is incredible. As I mentioned before, I like that you utilized a lot of the new features in NL2 to help with the ride experience. I though the global concept of the environment was great for NL2 and I think you executed in very well. You made a great environment for the ride. I liked the use of volumetric lights and fog to really add the extra flare to the experience. I thought you did a great job incorporated the queue line into the ride environment and I thought the overall layout/footprint of the ride was really good.

Hervorragende Arbeit!

Probably the best ride so far in NL2. Loved it, and mostly loved the path to the station. Excellent views from the coaster and nice sensation having it riding just few meters away from you in the queue line. T: Just seemed to me, that most of the time you're looking to the sky. It's a flying coaster, so obviously sometimes you don't hang but lie on your back, but in this case, don't ask me why, sometimes gave me the sensation that almost all the time you look to the sky, and when it turns it's just for a few seconds due to an inversion. Anyway, the smoothness is just GREAT, and the coaster layout is wonderful. A: The best part of it. Even I was not complaining but suggesting at T point about the flying position, I must say that on some part of the ride it makes you loose your orientation point, which is awesome. At some parts you won't know if you're backwards to the terrain or not, really really amazing. O: The best of all, not just the worked environments, tech details, effects, ambientation, queue path... the whole idea is as said one of the most originals seen until today in NL2. Awesome work!

T - This ride was pretty average technically, the lay out whilst unique and quite thrilling had some bumps also your pacing was off in places and both your smoothness and shaping needed some work. A - This is high, it was a very thrilling layout, the launch was quite unique and made quite a fast coaster. The ride time was quite short but the environment made up for that, the scenery is fantastic although some of the smaller details felt un-necessary as you wouldn't see them from the car travelling at the speed the car was/ O - As I said the ride is very unique yet felt it was missing the "X" factor, Scenery was superb and so was the lighting and although un-necessary in places added to the experience. Good ride just make sure you make your coasters as technically good as possible before scenery creation.

I realllllllllyyyy loved the environment and how the whole area was set up. Very mysterious. The coaster was so unique and interactive. I was not expecting those launches, that's a lot of fun. I never ended up checking the Gs but I don't really mind, it seemed realistic from the ridethroughs. I turned off the fog and looked at the whole island and it's just a magnificent sight. Well done, thanks for the ride!

This coaster is simply stunning! Seriously, I was absolutely blown away by this masterpiece! Being on an isolated island, while not very realistic for an actual coaster, still gave an amazing feel to the ride, with the caverns and structures. As you said, it's a fantasy coaster, so that's not a problem. The forces were realistic, and the layout had a nice flow with the terrain and caves, which made for an exciting ride. The whole concept of this coaster was very unique and unlike anything I had seen before!

T - Technically this was a brilliant ride and was way smoother than most Vekoma coasters are in real life. No real complaints here, others have said there was some dodgy shaping or bumps, but from a rider perspective it felt fine to me. Supports were also great and when it comes to the supports in the caves and tunnels, I'm not sure how you'd even go about supporting that and from what I could see everything looked great. A - Really good here, the theming was brilliant and added to the score, swooping in and out of the caves was brilliant fun and I loved the half loop coming out of the MCBR. The lighting really added to it. If anything I'd have liked to have more flying sections, but it was definitely fun and being on your back a lot of time added to the adrenaline score. O - This was pretty much one of the most original coasters I've seen. You took a great idea and used a type of coaster you don't see that much of rather than going for the standard B&M Flyer. I know you're saying its a fantasy ride, but I think with some slight adjustments and not putting it completely on an island in the middle of the sea this is something that could be built at one of the bigger theme park chains such as Disney or Universal. Only downsides I'd say that are really nit picky is that I think the station layout could use some looking at, I'd be tempted to have two stations, one a load and one as an unload, to help capacity. I'd also say there should be fencing around the exit path as well as steps up to the launch hill catwalk and the MCBR. But these are silly realism nit picky points, it was a brilliant ride and I've had a lot of fun playing with it!

WOW WOW WOW! The opening of this track alone screams amazing! The water going against the side of the rocks, and the climb to the station all scream amazing work!! I finally got up to the station and was very excited to board the train. I got on and it was just excitement all the way through. Its a bit confusing because with this style of coaster, I'm not really sure where I should be looking, but that just comes with the style of ride. NoLimits should constrain ones ability to look around much on these style coasters and just focus on the track as you would if you were on it. You really had an absolute amazing attention to detail which puts this ride on top! Great Job!

T: You said it could be better, but I haven't seen a bump or something that wasn't looking right (in the video, my laptop couldn't handle it smoothly). The layout of the ride is fantastic, it isn't a very big ride, but it had a good length to be satisfied. I miss a support at the end just before the brake. A: The adrenaline was good, it's a realistic Vekoma coaster. When you're laying/flying in the coaster it makes it only more exiting IRL, the caves are perfect for that too. O: You deserve a 10 here, I personal have never seen a ride around a lighthouse, witch was perfect! The theming was great! love the caves, with the lights you set up. Oh, I almost forgot, the queue is amazing! Walking through the caves and see the coaster coming through at some unexpected moments. The only less thing is that you couldn't see where you were walking all the time, so I has to guess where the queue was going. I wish this was real life!

The atmosphere right off the back was simply astounding in a way I've never seen any other project do, you really nailed the kind of creepy abandoned isle feel, very spooky indeed...without the advanced theming I think the trackwork might have been slightly less interesting, but the fact that you were flying through tight caves and underground churches and so on really bumped up the adrenaline.

First impression, download now. But with some minor tweaks this would be awsome. Tech This is the first coaster i downloaded with NL2 and i was amazed! From that start up, just awsome. All the support beams are places nice and correctly. The track was very smooth with a speedboost then a slower part then again a speedy part. Some tip for the next time, try to hide the light. The one at the beginning and the one in the station are for me annoing. The shine right in you face, and you dont that that. Ad Yes as i said, speedy part then a slower part and then again a speedy part. Wow. The transision between those parts where smooth. Originality The scenery are awsome! There are some spots that i tought, mm then cant be correct, but overall awsome. You did a good job using the new features in the NL2 release! The waiting line was great not to long and very detailed. In the station some signs, you dont see that in all build, just great!

This ride is excellent and I can only imagine how long it took to input all the detail which make this coaster truly unique. The coaster is very smooth with few bumps and the pacing is very quick. I appreciate the weather at its worst to start the park as it added another layer of thrill to the ride. The one knock I have is that the Vekoma model of flying coaster tends to have the rider more on their back rather than flying which takes away just a tad. Excellent job!!

T - A few hitches in track, but I thought they were fine, nothing to really worry about. A - It was very nicely paced and it didn't lack in speed, which I think is important when it comes to coasters that interact with terrain as much as this does. Well, the technical side is almost perfect, but the models are way too heavy for a standard PC, even with low detail. The ride is very adrenalinic, I really enjoyed it. This was really nice but kind of frustrating for me. The island you created was amazing and reminded me of Myst. There were some really nice moments in the queue, but then I feel like the coaster didn't show much of the island off as it was usually in the lying (not flying) position. However, there were some nice elements, particularly the dive off the brake run, which would be great fun in real life. I loved the church room which wasn't seem from the queue. Overally, really nice work - just a shame the ride doesn't show off the amazing environment you created as much as it might have.

As you walk, it gets creepier and creepier and you just wanna ride it right away! I loved how you integrated the launches instead of boring long lift hills, that's appreciated. The other thing that I noticed it's in one of the drops, that it goes straight to the flying position, instead of rotating like most real coasters, that was also amazing. From a fantasy design standpoint, this was a wonderful ride. Sadly doesn't run well on my computer though but probably one of my favorite things was where you placed the camera to start off. Standing at the base of the cliff on a fragile bridge over a raging ocean added to the overall intensity and darkness of the ride. Especially having to climb up and through the rock to get to the lighthouse above. Very symbolic and creative on its own standpoint. The ride itself, although lacked a little bit of a story or progression of events, it did utilize the surroundings very well. The helix in the cave is probably the most significant part of the ride, personally, as it acts as the turning point and transition between intro and outro of the attraction. Nonetheless great work and can't wait to see another. Your textures were wonderful.

T: Altough trhe ride was very smooth and fun to ride, it felt a bit wrong to me. Some of the elements felt a bit strange after another and for a flying dutchman type ride the riders are way to much on their back. There wasn't enough flying around to my liking. A: Many of the elements gave a nice boost on the adrenaline part. Sweeping drops of the cliffs, flips inside the mountain and launches make this a very nice ride. O: The experience is an unique one. The whole coaster has a very eerie feeling to it whitout it being a horror themed coaster. There are a few beautifull scenes which you can find walking around the island. There is one thing I found a bit unfortunate. During the riding you don't see to much of the scenery which is probably because of the coaster-type. Awesome. The scenery is great, and the track is smooth and realistic. One of the best coasters I found here to test. The soundscape adds to the "abandoned place" feeling. Fun to explore the whole place. There´s only one thing I don´t like and it reduced A: for my taste, the train is in an upright position too long. What is interesting for the start (looking into sky and the trees) gets boring. In a simulation you don´t feel anything, and just looking into the sky guessing what´s going on is not my taste. There are so nice views which you don´t see because of lying in the car instead of hanging beneath the track - what a flying coaster should do. in short: I miss the feeling of flying on the flying coaster ;-)

Wow, just wow. You did nice theming over there. Really like the theme of an abandoned island in the strong weather. The coaster only isn't like Vekoma would make a Flying coaster, It's to much straight and a looping or something in the lay-out would make it more Vekoma. That's the reason i don't like the lay-out that much as the landscaping.

They really added to the experience of what already is a pretty fun ride. E-stop passed. There's nothing much I can say that hasn't been said. A: I only docked you points because I didn't like being on my back. This is a flying coaster. You should be in the flying position longer! I think more of the ride is spent on your back than in the flying position. I understand it for the brakes and maybe the tunnel/underground section because of supports, but there was too much time that was prime for flight. The drop and turn out of the launched lift would have been excellent flying, but it was spent on the back. O: Super original. An original layout, a great use of tunnels and other details that you don't see too many rides use. A launched lift hill halfway through the ride also is pretty cool.

Super Bahn.

First and formost! WOW!!! this coaster i f****** great. Sorry for the f word. It's great designed and all the detailed work you've put in to this is truly amazing. A very smooth and exciting ride, it's very origninal but unfortunately pretty unrealistic to build in real life. Which could be amazing. I would ride it over and over gain and then again and again. Great job!

Definitively the best coaster that I've seen in NL2! It's just incredible! T- Very smooth trackwork and very interesting layout, but there wasn't enough 'flying' throughout the coaster, meaning that you missed most of the scenery (would've loved to see the church while flying!) A- No lift hills, no slow elements, no boringness! It's a thrill from the very beginning of the ride! A true thrill (and a long one!) O- Probably the most original coaster, with the most original scenery around! Superb job!

First, I wanted to say that I really enjoyed my rides on Mini Twister, so thanks for sharing! Technical: I don't see major flaws in the trackworks, it's obviously smooth, seems controlled by you and not by the tool, got some variations and interesting maneuvers... Feels very realistic and it's what I like. Maybe some most advanced members here would find criticisms, maybe a few time the radius of a turn changes too suddenly (in the end especially), but no, I've nothing to really complain about. For me you aced here. About the supports, the job is done here, I mean it's believable. Maybe a few supports more on the lower parts wouldn't have been too much. I can also be nit-picky and say you could have placed more flanges, and in a better way, but overall it's fine. The connectors are not the prettiest ones, although that's better than nothing. I like the queue you've made out of supports, though some poles weren't prfectly vertical. I suggest you to use the snap function next time. Plus, with a value of what, one meter, it can makes your job easier. The 3Ds you made for the entrance are fine, but the fence near the lake made my computer struggle a lot. That's a pity, because it doesn't add a lot to the ride. Adrenaline: Airtime, twists and turns, left-right, helixes... You've got it all! It's a perfect family-sized coaster and I'd really love to ride a real one like that. It's not too intense either, which NL rides tend to be most of the time. The pacing is great, the elements are varied, but why-oh-why that trim brake??... :( I wanted to go to those S-turns full speed! Although, I admit such details add an authenticity to a virtual creation, so yup. But still! The ending felt slightly too slow because of that.

Perfect score from me! Wow right as you enter the scenery is incredible. As you walk around until you get o the ride, it is just amazing detail and surrounding that impressed me the most. I loved how much time it looked like it took to complete everything. The ride itself was great as well. You did an awesome job and keep making roller coasters!!

Tech: Some parts of the ride, specifically the last turn seem somewhat under supported, especially for a Vekoma flyer. There is also a few jerks here and there, most noticeably during the helix before the second launch. You can also make the train valley if you hit the emergency brake during the first launch. All minor stuff in the grand scheme of things, but definitely effected the score a bit. Adr: Great interaction with scenery! Really stunning work here, some of the turns out past the lighthouse were a bit broad, but other than that the ride was amazingly well paced. The lie to fly transitions were also great! Org: Starting the ride at the beginning of a beautifully themed queue is always awesome (I love that option in NL2, really opens up the ride to become a full experience than just a coaster). I loved the theme as well, and the fly through the creepy underground church at the end was perfect, definitely added a whole new level of creepy there. Overall a stunning ride you have here, beautifully themed and planned. Good job.

T: The ride was outstanding! As said before, if you switch the transfer track so the train would crash, it will switch back just as it should. A: Very exciting ride! I like how you were on your back, so you had no idea what was going on or when a launch was coming. I really liked the launches. O: Very original ride! The scenery was outstanding, and the launches were clever. My only complaint was, since you were on your back the whole time, some of the scenery was hard to tell what it was while on the ride. For instance, when you go through the chapel, your own your back. I had no idea there was even a chapel until I found it just exploring the wonderful scenery! Oh, just a quick question, I turned off the weather later so it would be less laggy for me, why were there six windmills?

T: I could write on this topic for days. Your trackwork was very smooth and definitely had a Vekoma flyer feel. They don't have a layout like yours but by no means is it unrealistic. Your supports were almost perfect too. There was at least one spot I thought could have a support but otherwise fantastic and realistic. My favorite part of this ride was the queue line. I loved how your made the starting position at the beginning of the queue. The way your coaster interacted was just outstanding too. I loved walking around this coaster more than riding it. A: I thought you did really well in this category too. There was a good balance between lying and flying and enough near misses to make the coaster interesting. I liked how the layout started out slow then picked up. O: The setting of this coaster is original and in fact, I've never seen another No Limits coaster in a similar setting. However, looking at your other coasters on the exchange, they are all dark and gloomy settings too. I think you may need to change it up. We all know you can make an amazing gloomy coaster, I would like to see something with a different feel. That's all up to you though. But like I said in the Technical section, this was not a typical Vekoma flyer but it is realistic and very original. Overall, one of the best No Limits coaster I have seen. I'm excited to follow your next project on the forums.

I think the turns towards the beginning were a little too fast. I like the coaster overall. It is a ride that I would ride anytime anywhere. The que line was alittle boring. It was taken too far away from the ride. I like que lines that are nestled next to the ride. after waiting in line you will kinda forget what you are in line for after a while and get bored of waiting. I would make your que lines closer to the ride so your potential riders can see it in action. that is the only thing. i loved this ride

T - The layout of this track is pretty cool and the entire track seems to be smooth. It has a very unique feel to it and it definitely worked out. A - While ive never had the opportunity to ride on a real one of these, I can see how thrilling this ride would be. There are some points where I feel it would be scary to be on it, but all in all it has a very intense fun ride. O - Wow. The environment you built up for this ride is amazing. The scenery really adds to the ride experience and it is truly what makes this ride great. Having the ride built not just on, but through the rocks makes it feel like it fits into the environment.

This was one of the most exciting experiences I've had with NoLimits. The lack of screenshots or visual giveaways before you actually load it up really adds to the whole thing. I almost wish I could have my mind erased so I could experience it for the first time all over again. Walking through the queue line was just as exciting as actually riding on the coaster. Seeing all the track going here and there and wondering where it goes in between. All the fog obscuring the ride and the scenery is a great touch and when you finally get to the station you have no idea how big the coaster is or where it goes and it's just brilliant. My one and only complaint is that the coaster was actually very confusing. It was very smooth and fitted the scenery perfectly, but it was quite a shame how I never seemed to know which way up I was and therefore missed a lot of the scenery during the ride. Overall though, great job.

T - The track was great. It was mostly nice and smooth, but with most of the time on the the coaster being on my back, I didn't get to enjoy the scenery much at all. A - Like I said before, the track was great and the fact that you can't see what's ahead of you added to the adrenaline. O - Though I haven't been playing No Limits very long, I could tell a lot of time was put into making this coaster unique from anything else out there. The walk up the queue line was more exciting than most roller coasters:)

Great ride! The ride and environment look fantastic and I thought it was great to walk through the extensively themed queue from the bottom dock and up to the station. The ride was very well made/executed and it was a hell of a lot of fun, despite the fact that it could have used a bit more time in the flying position. All-in-all, an amazing ride with great scenery, trackwork, elements and everything in general!

Technical - Yes. Every transition was smooth as ice and, from what I could tell, every detail in terms of trackwork and supporting was ideal. Granted, I'm not as critical as others, but hey, great job in that department. Adrenaline - I gave a 7 because, although it had moments of greatness, I wasn't thrilled the entire way through. That may be a personal preference though, because for some reason I don't find flyers too thrilling in NL. Originality - High marks for you. Everything was telling a story and I loved walking through the queue because it set up the ride perfectly.

Very original and very professional! Lots of adrenaline. To improve their could be audio effects in the station and on ride music however this is just something to push the ride from good to excellent. I like the cave effect and I don't think the supports matter as it is just a game. The queue was great too, a lot of work went into it. Good ride all together though.

BRIEF SPOILER ALERT: If you haven't downloaded and ridden this ride before reading this review, do so. It's really best experienced first hand. Wow, where to begin on this ride. T - You and a very few of the reviewers have mentioned some of the track work could be improved. I honestly didn't notice and bumps or pumps at all. If there were any, I was too busy being flung around in this awesome environment to notice! As for the support work, I think you did an awesome job considering how difficult it is to support a flyer with so many cave sections. I don't suppose there are any real life examples of such support work, but the way you executed it seemed realistic enough and was still unobtrusive to the ride. I also loved all the little details you put in to this, like the rotating transfer tracks and the separate queues for front and back rows. On the topic of the queue, once inside the station the queue lines seemed a little narrow. I can imagine a larger person or a parent with an older child might be a little uncomfortable traversing the last section of the queue inside the station. I know this is something of a fantasy ride but it also looked very odd that there was no safety fencing around the track after you come out of the exit. A - From start to finish the ride really was exhilarating. The fly around of the lighthouse, the double helix inside the main cave, the underground rolls, the half loop exiting from the MCBR; it's hard for me to pick a favourite element out of the entire ride, honestly the whole thing was great. Even though I normally like my flying coasters to be just that - flyers - I thought the frequent fly to lie and lie to fly transitions were a great idea. Combined with the extensive parts of the track underground, being on my back a lot of the time meant I was constantly disorientated, not knowing which way was up, and I thought this added massively to the adrenaline score. I have to just mention that half loop exiting out of the MCBR again, what a fantastic element. G-forces seemed to be reasonable through the ride also. O - A perfect score here, and I don't think many people could argue with me. The atmosphere you created from the offset, landing at a tiny dilapidated dock to begin the queue, was simply astonishing. The weather effects, lighting and fog were all used perfectly in conjunction to achieve this. The 3D work here was also breathtaking. The centrepiece of the scenery alone, the eerie and yet imposing lighthouse, was enough to convince me of this. I think the name and the graphic on the front of the trains really sums up the atmosphere you managed to create here - completely isolated and rather unsettling. Reminds me a lot of Shutter Island (if you haven't seen it, do so, it's a terrific film). Some of the detail you put into this, despite the fact that it probably wouldn't even be noticeable given the fog, was astounding. I didn't even notice that little underground church section the first time I rode through it. The queue line was maybe even better than the ride itself! I suppose this is where the details really come into their own, when you actually have time to stand and appreciate them. The interaction between the ride and the queue, particularly in the main cavern with the double helix, was fantastic. Frequent fly-bys of the trains really creates excitement for the ride and adds to the adrenaline score. This is a ride that I'd actually enjoy queueing an hour for. The detail of the wind turbines in the background, the silhouettes of which were only briefly visible through the fog due to distant lightning strikes, was absolutely amazing. The only thing I would mention is that I wasn't mad about the style of turbine you created. I think an older style of wind turbine like this: http://www.fortiswindenergy.com/upload/molens/fortis-10-kw-wind-turbine-university-installation170/groot/2008.pa030021.jpg would have been better suited and would have added to the atmosphere even more. This is just nit-picking on minute details though which is why I haven't taken any points off. As more of a suggestion rather than a critique, I think it would have been really cool to see part of the queue line inside the lighthouse to see the abandoned interior and add to the atmosphere even more. Maybe a large open window or balcony as well from which you could view the ride fly by. Obviously this would have been even work, to model the whole inside of the lighthouse, but it just a personal suggestion of mine. I think it also would have been a nice touch to maybe have a dim or flickering light up in the tower, just seems really mysterious to me. Overall, absolutely amazing. THE best piece of work I have ever seen completed in no limits, for me this beats even Gaia. The fact you managed to complete this by yourself in only 6 months is even better. You deserve some serious recognition for this, bravo, I just wish I had the creative ability and the talent to come up with something even 5% as good as this.

T: Really great work, also on the 3ds, the environment but really the trackwork is good as well. Smooth yet exiting. A: From the launch raging up and down through tunnels, around the lighthouse and over the water, it's just amazing. O: The 3ds work on this is amazing. I walked the entire queue and it looks amazing. Especially the part where you have the outside light fall into the tunnel. And the position where you start is great, that you actually have to walk all the way up, really adds to the ambiance.

This coaster was just stunning... I loved the scenery and how well it fits the coaster. It was very well modeled and very well textured too.. This is a very original ride with very stunning scenery and a very creative idea behind it. I also loved the way it was presented to us. In real live I have never ridden a Flying coaster. But I would be stoked to ride this one. Great Job!

What a fabulous track. Theming and scenic design are the standout. You're right, the queue and exit path are stunning. I wish they connected at a plaza somehow. The ride itself is cool too. My instinct is that both launches are a little too fast. It's tough to really get a sense of flying coasters in NL since the visual is at such an awkward angle.

A: Flyvende trug hulerne var stor. Og tak for at bruge lanceringer i stedet for kæde elevatorer. Ingen kedelige øjeblikke på denne tur. O: Rides som denne er meget sjældne. I love this roller coaster! The scenery surrounding is flawless and the fog on the island makes it look even better! What impressed me also is queue line inside the cave and track which is visible in some places especially helix mixed with queue line. Your models are awesome! In my opinion, if this island with the roller coaster would be in any way connected (bridge, an underwater tunnel, or something) - that gave it even more realism. Sry for my English

Impressive work here. The story and attention to detail are at a level I have not seen in quite some time. I loved the lighting and the work with shadow. Great Originality. Technically, it was a a fine execution. The only constructive criticism: the pacing felt a little off. Perhaps this was due to the flying/prone position perspective, where it can be difficult to see where you're going or how fast you're moving (even when you're riding in real life, actually). Small nitpicks for what was a strong execution. Can't wait to see what you do next!

Great originality and very impressive work with the terrain especially with the queue line. This is a very advanced coaster which shows off all the great features which No Limits 2 has to offer. The only advice I would possibly give is to create a more advanced station however in this case the simplicity and ambiance of the station worked very well. Thanks for giving the time in order to create this ride. Well done.

T: The support system seemed believable enough to carry the weight of the coaster, while sitting on that big rock. I loved everything about the ride. My only complaint would be almost silly in hindsight. The disorientation of not seeing what's really going on bothered me when watching it, but then after thinking about it, I realized the genius in it. The overall feel this had was one of a kind and it has really made me re-evaluate what a roller coaster can be. I'm just getting into this as a hobby or perhaps more if I'm as good as I hope to be with it, but rides like this make me excited for the future of people who can make these types of designs. Fantastic work all around.

The ride is very smooth and the track has no obvious bumps in them, at least to me. The supports worked well too, it felt like a solid coaster. The ride was also fast paced right from the launch start. Though i felt it could have been longer slightly and with some more scenery at certain parts, as the fog and the on-the-back view from the simulation hid them from view. I liked the originality, as the coaster flying through the tunnels was unique. The lighting was surreal. Parts of the walkthrough to the station felt like an fps game. Kind of reminded me of the first level in Splinter cell CT. To get that feel in a rollercoaster game speaks of your skill.

T: Great support work, E-stop is kind of funky because of the launches but works, and I like the transfer and storage area. Trackwork is mostly smooth. Nice layout and implementation. A: I only docked points here because it appears that the ride spends more time facing upward than in the flying position. This is a flying coaster and should be prone most of the time. I understand the launch and brake segments being upright, but I feel like a lot is lost facing the sky. The big turn after the second launch especially could have benefited from being in the flying position. The turn over the water would be interesting to look at. Instead, the rider sees a lighthouse and cliff. But other than that, it's a pretty nice ride. Good layout, spectacular use of scenery for close calls and atmosphere. O: One of the most original ideas I've seen for NL2. A Vekoma instead of a B&M, crazy launches and amazing scenery. Great use of the weather too. The elements are unseen anywhere else, especially the dive out of the block brake into the tunnel over the water. What a fun ride. Worth all the time spent on it. I await further rides from you.

Sick ride bro! Loved the theming and the atmosphere that was created for the ride, Superbly detailed through out. One drawback I had was the coaster style. Why would it be unrealistic to pretend the caves would exist? I've seen plenty of real life parks make their own caves to fit their rollercoaster. Just to make sure I tried to crash it by leaving the transfer switch in the wrong direction when I set the ride back to automatic. The switch just returned to normal, as it should. Great play with the lighting inside the caves and the q-line. A: great, obviously. My favorite part is the church section down in the caves. But some of the curves seem a bit stretched out, because you want the train to get to the other site of the island. Thats the only downside in my opinion. O: A great and unique setting. combined with a good track, a lot of ideas, a great queue... Maybe you could have done more work on top of the island...or more interaction with the tower.

This is my first download at this community and I have to say I must have picked a REALLY good one to get started on. First impressions, it's everything that I want to do in NoLimits...it starts you off on the dock of a rolling ocean with only one path to take and the journey that unfolds is quite astounding. I'm not sure if you've played or have ever played the game Myst, but if you have, this felt like the Stoneship Age to a TEE - the vast feeling of loneliness, a storm that never ceases, small clues and very few paths. It's all-together a wonderful experience and it shows how much more NoLimits coasters can be when you factor in a slow and methodical unveiling in first person. It felt as if I was really there, really exploring this relic and queuing up for a new experience. Sadly, the downside to all of this is the ride itself - with so much work poured into the brilliant environment and the very carefully placed lights, the coaster view kind of misses anything of real importance. I tried to ride it again at a different position, but it didn't help - the laydown Vekoma is an anomaly and personally one of my least favorites...but you've already mentioned that in order to complete it, you had to just move on - and in its own way it was an experience just as lonely and solitary as the island itself. The framed shot of the lighthouse was really special though! I love everything about this and I hope you continue to amaze with new experiences.

I loved the look of this ride and its environment... the brooding swelling sea at the entrance and the slashing rain and lightning gave a dramatic atmosphere. The lighthouse, wind turbines and track looming over the pathway was excellent. I did take the time to walk through the cave... it is something that definitely could be built in a theme park, even if it might cost quite a lot! And as you aid the view of the tracks and coasters zooming past as you walked through were fantastic. I loved the lighting and its changes from cool to warm colours in parts... and the mist definitely added to the look. I finally got to the station and its zig zag and went for the front car first. I am personally not keen on the rider position in these flying position coasters. But that should not detract at all from the rating for your fantastic build here. I would say though that after a couple f very disorientating rides with the normal "Ride View" I changed to "Fly-by View" and enjoyed that much more.. even though I would probably have been tossed out of the train and ejected from the park if had I tried to hand on in that position. Overall, I really really liked this ride and enjoyed my rides on I very much. I will be back to take in more of the atmosphere again.

Everything about this ride is almost perfect and unique in every single way. From the layout to the 3DS and even the coaster style (C'mon, how many Vekoma Lie Down's do you see here?), everything was sublime. Anyway: T: Everything here seemed ti be in order. The caves would definitely cause problems if this were to be built in real life but this is a fantasy coaster so I'll let it slide. Supports and the like seem to be excellent throughout with no noticeable flaws that I can see. A: An exceedingly gracious coaster is what this is; flying through the caves definitely adds to the excitement and ride experience due to the low clearance. The layout adds to this excitement with excellent pacing and well flowing elements. O: The island for this is amazing with the weather effects and wind turbines adding to this already amazing experience along with all your custom 3DS. Words really can't describe how awesome this roller coaster is!!

This is the first review I've written and just to put things in perspective, I'm quite new at coaster creation. I owned NL1 but never quite got the hang of it. NL2 has made things a bit easier but I'm not yet at the point of uploading anything. Having said that, I'm totally impressed with Point Solitude, From a technical point of view, as well as in originality, it's outstanding. The walkway up to the station sets the mood nicely, although I felt the station itself felt a little cramped. I really like the track layout, enough twists and turns to keep you interested. The only reason I rated the Adrenaline a bit lower is because some of the other NL2 coasters I've experienced seem to offer a bit more intensity. Overall though, I believe this ranks amongst the best, and has certainly raised the bar of excellence. You have inspired me to think more outside of the box in terms of my own future coaster designs.

A good mix of all features, combines some really good concepts of lots of different coasters merged. The nail biting climb would sure get the adrenaline pumping. There is an element for everyone, I love the airtime! Some inversions felt as if they were added to fill a gap, didn't naturally flow, that being said its a great coaster and would love to see that mammoth drop appear somewhere in real life!

T: Trackwork seemed very smooth from what I could tell. Honestly, I barely payed attention to it. I was drawn into the scenery around it. A: It always kept me guessing which way it was gonna go next. You used the flying coaster to its max potential. O: The setting was truly original. Flying around the island, through caverns, and then a church(?) was cool.

This is a fantastic coaster with a completely unique atmosphere and design! From the moment it loads you realize the amount of effort that was put into the landscaping, as you walk throughout the unusual queue path to reach the ride. In several areas while walking through, you see the coaster shoot past in certain areas of the cave, with fantastic lighting effects adding to the whole experience. Aside from the environment, the coaster itself is well designed, with an unexpected drop near the end that causes the rider to become inverted for a short period of time. The only problem is that the fact it is a lay down coaster causes the ride to be quite disorienting as you can't see where you're going, but this also has it's advantages so on the whole this is an excellent job!

Very long wainting cue. The stormy enviromnent helps to the surprise. It's hard to follow correctely all the trains and to see the way that rails are taking. It make me remenbering my playings on an old adventure game calles myst. We have the same mystery and don't know what will happen. The possibility to choose fron or back train is also a good idea. Ther are no slowering during the ride. But visibility is a little poor with the rain. By the way, it's a good surprize to follow all the ride. I'm not surprised in the info that it took 6 months to make it.

Wow!! I don't even know how to do most of the things that you did with the theming of the ride, but great job! I have a hard time with the flying coasters as far as getting a seat with a good view in NoLimits, so using off-ride views worked best for me on this one. You put a TON of effort into this and it shows. The track itself for me wasn't the highlight of the ride, but all of the creative elements you added are amazing. Nice work, keep it up.

Technical- Good here. The ride was very smooth, and the supports seemed stable (No flanges, though :O ). Forces were good and the ride passes the tunnel test. A problem for me was the shaping, because even though the ride isn't very specific to a manufacturer, it still had very weird shaping. :/ Adrenaline- The ride would be crazy! It's 7 inversions are all intense and the ride has a long, fast paced layout. In real life it might have some headbanging due to the style of coaster but that isn't guaranteed, so no points off there. Originality- Though the concept of 7-inversion mega loopers isn't new or unique, Airstream takes the concept differently with large inversions similar to something B&M would do and put it on Arrow/Vekoma track. The elements themselves are different then most mega loopers and are in a nice, different order. I liked the unique theme as well, even without in-game theme elements. I will have to check out some of your other coasters, because this was really nice. :)

T - From a technical standpoint, this ride is really amazing. Aside from a few bumps that could have been smoothed out, the rest is pretty darn perfect. The transitions were mostly smooth, and I couldn't notice anything major that went wrong, even though I rode it at least 3 times looking for anything that could be improved. A - Flying through the caves made me duck my head in real life, which really gave the illusion of being inside this coaster's setting. The launch-lift was unexpected, and it was a nice surprise. O - Perfect 10. Nowhere can you find a ride like this, this ride is very unique. The dark setting gives it the feel as if you are in an abandoned island with a lighthouse, which is a very unique place for a coaster to be, but it all works. I'm very impressed with this ride, please keep up the great work.

T: This ride is smooth. You did exceptional work on the track and really managed to capture the graceful flow that some B&M rides have. I noticed a very small bit of wobble here and there between some of the elements, particularly at the beginning, but it was hardly noticeable and barely worth mentioning. I rode it many times all over the train and really couldn't find much of anything to fault you for. I also liked the support work you did and loved the nice head chopper on the final roll. A: This really is an intense track, and it is extremely ride able. I watched it at least a dozen times! It does slow down a bit at the end in some of the turns. That didn't bother me much, but if you wanted to tighten them up to raise the speed, it would help boost the adrenaline factor. O: I liked what you did in terms of the interplay between the high and low sections of the ride. Alternating between the bigger elements and then low swoops along the ground really gives the track a feeling of following the flight of a bird of prey during the hunt. I also really liked the color scheme of the ride.

I enjoyed this ride different and unique however I felt that the ride time was very short and view was very restricted. This was still a very good experience and look forward to future work. Perhaps if the ride time was longer a higher rating would have been possible, still very impressive and cant wait for future works.

It's a very good coaster and generally I'd give it a 10, but there's a small bug in the technical facts: if you activate the e-stop before the "MCL" brakes the transports there doesn't have enough power to pull the train once the e-stop is deactivated. Anyway, adrenaline gets a 10 because it's a very exciting coaster, even having into account that the coaster style is usually exciting. In originality, you also get a 10 because it's strange building a coaster and surrounding it with fog, rain and even a storm. I know you've also spent a lot of time doing the queue pathways, but now they're great! It's a very good job and I promise that the first time I saw the youtube video I knew I had to download it.

This was a very interesting coaster that I ended up liking a lot. The theme of loneliness, depression, and solitude was excellent, and probably one of my favorite aspects of the ride. The atmosphere and scenery are definitely a strength of this coaster too, and although it may not look like much at first glance, it really does fit the theme. I felt that the track layout, while executed very well, was a bit dull, and I was a bit confused at where the coaster was going throughout most of the ride. Still, that didn't take away from what was a very excellent ride.

This is a really great coaster. I really felt the atmosphere come alive the moment I loaded it up and it got better from there. The track was well designed and smooth, the scenery really immerses you into the experience and the coaster itself has its share of thrills. If this existed in real life I would totally ride it time after time. You sir really know how to design coasters. I give you a 9.6 overall rating and I hope to see more from you in the future. Thank you for submitting such a thrilling coaster.

This ride was absolutely phenomenal. You did a great job with this ride, especially the theming. The ride had you immersed from the beginning in the line. The only thing I didn't like about this ride was the intensity. I feel that you could have done a little more with making an intense ride layout, however, this was still one of my favorite coasters on NoLimits

This is the sort of track I stay in NL for. The 3D assets and scene creation looked rather professional and really showcase the best of what the NL2 engine can do, and the overall experience was quite entertaining. T: Definitely true to the Vekoma layout, and the track shaping was well crafted. Ignoring the obvious fantasy aspect of the ride, it's pretty realistic. The last block before the station stacks a bit, but the wait isn't that bad. A: The pacing is pretty much on-point too. A bit slow at parts for my taste, but authentic to the track style. I think it'd be cool to spend some more of that slow-time being immersed in the scenery, as many of the cool bits run by rather quickly. Just my opinion though. I loved the way the track goes through the environment overall. O: Like I said, the assets and scene creation were fantastic. I liked that the shader system was actually used with normal mapping which I think is all too rare to see in NL2. The lighting was also very well done considering the engine's limitations with custom closed spaces.
